Katriina Campitelli (she/her) is a Toronto-based public art curator whose practice is rooted in creating site-specific works that foster civic dialogue, cultural tourism, and community engagement. With over a decade of experience, Katriina has commissioned and produced more than 400 temporary installations and 17 permanent public artworks and monuments. Her curatorial projects span festivals, municipal commissions, institutional programming, and grassroots initiatives – always guided by a commitment to amplifying diverse voices and building inclusive public spaces.

As digital life increasingly dominates our daily experience, Katriina is drawn to creating physical, built environments and exploring how these spaces can foster a sense of belonging and genuine community. She is particularly passionate about developing programs that support emerging artists and mentorship in the field, often serving as a catalyst for next-generation talent.

Recent highlights include leading the city-wide BigArtTO projection festival and directing partnership initiatives for Toronto’s Year of Public Art 2021–2022, where she helped realize over 200 temporary public art interventions. Katriina continues to advance public art as a tool for placemaking, storytelling, and civic connection – ensuring each project is deeply responsive to site, history, and community.
